Joining in the District.....Diary

Joined as Assistant Collector cum Assistant Magistrate, Vaishali just a couple of days back..

1st Day: While roaming around in the district with my SDM, encountered a road block over a murder (just few minutes before we happened to reach there by mistake) on the road. One person was shot dead on the road in broad daylight and a strong crowd had gathered around. The murderers had fled away along with the looted motorcycle. Seeing the anger and excitement in the mob, I was literally trembling from inside during the first few minutes (as we had no body guards at that time). But SDM Sir handled the situation very beautifullly.....a long story....

2nd Day: accompanied the SDO(SDM) to a flood affected Island in the middle of Ganga. Hajipur to Patna by road; Patna to the island by a huge boat, which was rocking heavily with the blows of Ganga (flowing above the danger mark);inside the island to block HQ by local vehicle. kids were with no window panes :P) . It was like a Boiling Ganga...flowing over roads and fields with full might.

Missed lunch because of the Block level meeting there. Came back around 5pm, fully exhausted.

3rd day: ...in waiting....hopefully it will be a cool day

हमनें उन्नत शिखरों को धूमिल होते देखा है,

ऊँचे हो न हो, पर शैल मज़बूत होने चाहिए।

आहत किया उसने मुझे, लफ़्ज के हर बाण से,

ज़रूरी नहीं कि, खून की कुछ बूँद गिरनी चहिये।

नुमाईश हुस्न की, होती यहाँ हर रोज़ है लेकिन,

धड़कन चुराले दिल की, एक सख्श ऐसा चाहिए।

दो अश्कों में बह गया, गम दिल का सारा।

आँसू छुपाने के लिए, कोई राज़ गहरा चाहिए।

बारिश की हर बूँद, शबनम बन नहीं सकती,

मोती बनने के लिए, एक सीप भी तो चाहिए।

ढल रही है रात काली, और मंजिल दूर है,

इस रात को काटने पर, एक हमसफ़र तो चाहिए।
